About Benjamin Maze

Hey there! My name's Ben, and I'm a landscape photographer based in Sydney, Australia.

I was always drawing and painting from a young age, but it wasn’t until my first year of high school that I picked up a camera. It didn’t take long for me to hit the ground running. Though it was another 5 years before I put down the pencil and brush, photography had well and truly become my creative muse of choice.

While progress was slow to begin with - being a student with very limited funds to invest in both gear and tuition - it was steady and determined. This forced me to figure things out for myself, which eventually led to developing a refined personal style that I’ve been fortunate enough to have had recognised both nationally and internationally.

I am passionate about capturing the full spectrum of the multi-faceted landscape, drawing inspiration from dramatic grand scenics through to the intimate details found in nature. I’m always pushing myself creatively, wondering how I can translate nature in unique ways that draw the viewer in and bring beauty to the wider world.

I’m passionate about helping others develop their personal creative vision and technical proficiency in order to find their photographic feet. This sees me running workshops across Tasmania, New South Wales and beyond, as well as other educational photography services such as 1-1 mentoring, video tutorials, camera club presentations and more.
